Job Summary

The Legal Services Associate Counsel will be located in our Washington, D.C. metro area office and will report to the Senior Counsel. Your core responsibilities will be providing legal support to the Investments Department concerning the company’s foreign investors and private equity funds. We are looking for a self-starter who is bright, creative, and forward-thinking, demonstrates poise under pressure, and can excel in a high-performance environment. Independence and collaboration are both highly valued. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist with drafting legal documents such as memoranda, letters, certificates, entity formation documents, term sheets, abstracts, and others as directed
  • Review and coordinate documentation related to projects and private equity offerings;
  • Assist with the deal-closing process
  • Prepare abstracts to summarize documentation about closed transactions
  • Support the team with ongoing investor communications and responses to investor inquiries and requests
  • Manage and track legal communications with existing investors
  • Locate, obtain, and preserve documents
  • Other responsibilities and tasks as requested.

Qualifications, Education, and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and JD required
  • Minimum 1 year of legal experience, with experience in commercial real estate required
  • Excellent attention to detail required a natural affinity and enjoyment for detail-oriented work preferred
  • Ability to proofread for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and basic formatting with a high level of accuracy
  • Familiarity with legal agreements and helping to quickly pull relevant sections in response to questions from the Investments team related to closed transactions
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, handle multiple tasks, and respond to changing priorities
  • Tech savvy and proficiency with Google Apps, Adobe, and Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.

POSITION

Full-time, exempt 

PAY RANGE

Commensurate with
experience. Eligible for a year-end performance bonus.
